The celebrity would often seem glamorous and untouchable, but as it turns out, the rich and famous are not immune to committing serious crimes. The media can’t help but keep their eyes and ears peeled for the latest celebrity scandal; some cases are absolutely
jaw-dropping. Here’s a list of some of the most notorious Hollywood stars who have committed or been accused of horrific crimes.
1. O.J. Simpson
O.J. Simpson is perhaps the most famous criminal on our list, having been exonerated of the murder of his ex-wife but convicted in a civil trial. He was later convicted of armed robbery and abduction, receiving a 33-year sentence.

2. Jared Fogle
Jared Fogle, the former spokesperson for Subway, pled guilty to possessing and distributing child pornography and having sex with teenage girls, resulting in a 12.5 year prison sentence.

3. Mark Wahlberg
Mark Wahlberg’s violent past is often overlooked, but he has a history of racial bullying and even blinded a Vietnamese man in a horrific attack. He served time in prison for the crime, but his Hollywood career has continued to thrive.

4. Bill Cosby
The allegations against Bill Cosby have been widely reported over the past few years. Cosby is currently facing multiple legal proceedings, including eight civil lawsuits and a criminal sexual assault prosecution. Dozens of women have come forward with
allegations of sexual abuse, assault, and rape against him, and the weight of evidence makes it difficult to discount their claims.

5. Phil Rudd
In 2014, Phil Rudd, the ex-drummer for AC/DC, was charged with hiring a hitman to murder two people and was also arrested for drug possession. He was arrested for “threatening to kill,” “possession of methamphetamine,” and “possession of cannabis,” according to CNN.

6. Josh Duggar
TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting was where the world was introduced to Josh Duggar, who was a relative unknown at the time. Nevertheless, after it was found that Duggar had sexually abused five females, including his own sisters, the network abruptly cancelled the show in 2015. His folks allegedly tried to save face by covering up the atrocities.

7. Stephen Collins
On 7th Heaven, Stephen Collins was a strict yet fair father figure for a generation of kids. Collins “publicly confirmed that he engaged in sexual misbehaviour with three girls,” revealing much darker realities. All of the episodes occurred over three decades but are
now too old to be prosecuted, guaranteeing him no jail time.

8. Sid Vicious
In 1978, Sid Vicious, bassist of the Sex Pistols, called down to the hotel front desk were he was staying with his girlfriend Nancy, to report something horrible had happened. Nancy was dead, had been stabbed multiple times in the stomach. Vicious was arrested straight away and accused of murder. But in a turn of events, NY police were forced to close the case, because 3 months after the event, Sid died from a heroin overdose.

9. Ian Watkins
For a stunning number of sexual offences, including the attempted rape of a baby, Ian Watkins, the main singer of the Welsh rock band Lostprophets, received a sentence of 35 years. The involvement of two mothers, who maltreated their own children to please him, made the case particularly horrible. As Watkins wrote in a horrific text message to one of the mothers, ‘If you belong to me, so does your baby.’

10. Gary Glitter
Gary Glitter was a musical icon of the glam-rock scene in the 1970s. But now his name is synonymous with his sex crimes. In the 90’s he took his computer to be repaired in PC World, where a technician immediately called police when he found a stockpile of child porn.
Glitter was given a short prison sentence, but upon release he settled in Vietnam, where he was again given another prison sentence, for abusing two underage girls. After his release, and when returning to the UK to be put of the child sex offenders register, he was arrested again due to the Jimmy Savile scandal breaking. He was given a 16 year prison sentence, but has recently been released in 2023.
